kicked off my shoes, shut reason out
Journal Entry: Tue Apr 22, 2008, 1:48 AM
Lorraine Mary MacDonald Lamb, known to me as Nana, who was truly a wonderful, beautiful woman, passed away April 9, 2008. My grandmother was my second mother; I lived with her in the summers up until my junior year in high school (Mom didn't think our neighborhood was safe enough for me to stay home alone) and we were always close growing up. She turned 75 on February 4, 2008, and was in the hospital from around 6 Feb to late March.
She did just fine for about 2-3 weeks, did physical therapy and was walking again, but was admitted to the MICU unit at Trinity Hospital on April 3. She got out in 2-3 days (my memory is still very fuzzy), was moved to a room on the 'regular' patient floors, but Monday, April 7, my mom asked if I could come there. The nurse had given a warning to my mom to call family members if they wanted to see her. She was still responsive when I got there, and remained so up until about 4 am Monday morning. I stayed with Mom in Nana's hospital room until the 9th, with her with not only Mom but her brother David (my uncle) and his wife, Mona, until Nana took her very last breath.
Words can't describe what an impact Nana made on my life. She visited Montevallo as much as she could, came to all my Wind Ensemble concerts, wanted to come to Honors Day if she was able, and supported me in school as well as life. She was stubborn, but kind-hearted, and never thought twice about doing something for someone else, never expected anything in return. I'm so lucky to get to know such a wonderful lady as my sweet grandmother for my 18 years of life.
"All hope is constant in thee."
I miss you Nana. You're forever in my heart.
Edit: Joseph and I are still together, and doing great now. Emo journal was emo.

Close your eyes for your eyes will only tell the truth, and the truth isn't what you want to see. Savour each sensation. Let your darker side give in. To the power of the music of the night.

Church: So it is a sword. It just happens to function like a key in very specific situations.
Caboose: Oooor it's a key all the time, and when you stick it in people, it unlocks their death.

Where is There? Whenever I get there, it becomes here. Maybe there is a concept that only exists to confuse us.
